“Life is occupied in both perpetuating itself and in surpassing itself. If all it does is maintain itself, then living is only not dying.” ~Simone de Beauvoir
We are in the midst of a season of change; a transition from one phase of life to another. Change can be scary because we fear not knowing what will come. Change is a shifting of situations – it’s unsettling to be on uncertain ground. At times it can feel a little like we’re losing what we most cherish…but then we remember. We remember that what is shifting will settle once again, that what is moving into the past is only making room for something new. Autumn will settle into winter. Our uncertainty turns to excitement as we look forward to what will emerge in the coming seasons.
