Photo of the Week #36

Well, due to computer issues I’m lucky to be getting this post out this week!  But, after only a bit of a delay it’s done.  I found a couple of quotes by Ansel Adams that particularly struck me this week and I wanted to share them with you.

“Some photographers take reality…and impose the domination of their own thought and spirit.  Others come before reality more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation.”

“Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution.”

Everyone will take their own meaning from these words and images.  My interpretation is that there are many purposes for photography – from recording something for posterity to expanding our perception of ordinary things to working through an emotion and more.  But the photographer must always be true to themselves, however they approach their subject, in order for that image to have the possibility of impacting the viewer on multiple levels.  We must always strive to show the world more.  And now here are our latest works:

Another great grouping, Jessica! I like the Adams quotes as well; I also appreciate your interpretation of them. Glad to see there were more submissions this week!
