Photo of the Week, Year 3, Week 34

I met a little girl (I’m guessing 7 or 8 years old) at my market booth this week and she was just chalk full of questions about photography.  Her mother was quite encouraging, even prompting her to keep asking questions and telling me what she already knew about photography.  It made me so happy to see such a young person (with such a supportive mom!) so excited about something that allowed her to be creative and express herself.  So many schools have cut back in the arts, as though they were a frivolous addition to education.  I believe that music and art are an essential part of education, especially at the early stages.  It is encouraging to know that there are parents out there that understand this and do everything they can to incorporate it into their children’s lives.  Even if they don’t choose to make it a career!

A great collection of images :)

I agree with you Jessica, I spent a phenomenal (and I don’t use that lightly) amount of time, volunteering to help with art projects, teach art classes, donate supplies and my work to school auctions and fundraisers when my kids were in grade school, it is something I believe everyone has a responsibility to do is serve the next generation. :)

(stepping of my soap box, LOL!!! )

    Have a great weekend, cheers, T. ;)
