My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful few days at Death Valley National Park this past week. Even though temperatures easily reached a hundred degrees Fahrenheit and above, we managed to keep ourselves from melting and see some pretty amazing sights. I think my favorite experience this trip was watching the sun rise over the Mesquite Flat Dunes near Stovepipe Wells. It meant getting up much earlier than my brain told me was sane to do so, but it was well worth it! Sitting on our dune, sipping coffee and enjoying the quiet was the perfect way to start the day. It was so nice after the sun rose that we hiked up to the highest peaks and made it back to camp before the temperatures got too high. As with any of our camping trips, it seemed all too short when it was time to come home. I can’t wait for our next visit to the park to explore some more!

Jessica, I LOVE your piece, before I saw your photo I was thinking trails as in the NW kind. It looks wonderful, I really hope I can go there one day :)

Thank you, Jessica!
All the shots are incredible. Yours is fantastic!
Have a blessed Easter!
Thanks ladies – it was a fantastic trip and the amazing natural shapes of the dunes were so inspiring! Death Valley is definitely a place to see in person – just be prepared to drink at least a gallon of water a day!!
Happy Easter everyone :)
Those dunes are out of this world, almost SF for someone who’s newer seen them up close, as me. Wonderful shapes and great eye for capturing them.
