Photo of the Week #51

“I feel that art has something to do with the achievement of stillness in the midst of chaos.  A stillness which characterizes prayer too, and the eye of the storm.  I think art has something to do with an arrest of attention in the midst of distraction.”  ~Saul Bellow

I think there’s some truth to this.  I would take it further to say that not only the creation of art, but truly seeing art also has a connection to achieving stillness.  It is the ability to see the unseen amidst the craziness of daily life – even if only for a moment – that is key.

    Thanks so much!

Yeah, I'm excited about the special post. I've been working on a collage of sorts to use as a year in review. It's pretty cool to see everything I've done for this project over the past year in one place!
