Photo of the Week #47

This was another week in which I found words hard to come by.  I looked over all the submissions this week for some inspiration in my search for a quote.  Strangely, as seems to be the case so often, we had a sort of theme running through nearly all of our photographs.  And once again, that theme is related to nature.  With that in mind, I found this quote to be appropriate.

“I didn’t want to tell the tree or weed what it was.  I wanted it to tell me something and through me express its meaning in nature.”  ~Wynn Bullock

We don’t always know why we photograph something, we just know that we can’t pass it by.  Maybe it’s the too little heard voice that caught our attention.  Maybe it’s some truth a basic part of our being recognized.  Whatever it was that caught our attention, it was important enough to capture it’s image.

Such beautiful images this week. I'm thankful to be included among such talented artists.

I think you're right. There is just something about summertime that makes me want to observe, quietly, wordlessly.

    Hugs,

    Tanaya

Yes, a fine group of images. The only one that didn't seem to get the memo was Anika, and ironically, I like her image best of all!

    Good job everybody!

Love your observation as always, so true. Needing to take a shot when passing the subject matter can become an obsession. Pretty shots everyone!

Jessica-what did you shoot your image with?

Steve-I know! Maybe because I am on vacation I missed the memo. Thank you for your compliment! Coming from you that means a lot. :)

Thanks Anika! :) My image this week was a TtV shot. I used my Canon Rebel, fit into my "contraption" to block out light and shot through the prism of my Kodak Duaflex twin-lens reflex. I've been playing with TtV for almost a year now, but haven't gotten around to listing any of the results in my etsy shop yet.
