Photo of the Week #44

I tell you, some weeks this project is a real challenge for me to just get done.  It comes down to the wire to get the blog post up and I realize I haven’t got anything to contribute.  So, I’ll freely admit, many times I end up doing something last minute.  I’ve said many times I’d be terrible without a deadline – and it continues to be true!  The temptation to cheat a little and pull a photo from the archives can be great at times, but that wouldn’t do me any good in the long run.  I’d soon be in the habit of just reworking old things and never really allow myself the opportunity to possibly discover something new.  It would lead me back down a path I struggle to stay away from – a path that leads nowhere.  If I only focus on things I’ve already done, nothing new would ever be created really.  And it wouldn’t be long before I found myself back in that stagnant pool where creativity has died.

So I continue to do my Photo of the Week to help myself (and maybe help a few of you along the way) to stay away from that dead end path.  Even though it’s difficult, I’ll keep at it.  When I feel bored with the project I find a way to make it exciting again – that is the real challenge in this project.  I hope that those of you who continue to do this project will also continue to find new ways to challenge yourself.  Because I think the really exciting thing is knowing there’s always something you haven’t discovered yet!

I just love seeing what everyone comes up with each week. I'm always amazed when it seems like there was a theme to follow, but there never is one!

    Great job everyone, really!

Jessica, I have your deadline as a repeating event in my calendar. The deadline itself reminds me to get out my camera even when I don't submit! So thanks so much!! I love those red shoes of yours. Great photos on your blog.
