Photo of the Week #40

Wow, week 40!  That means this post marks 9 months of Photo of the Week on my blog.  Crazy how time flies sometimes, isn’t it?

This week I found a really good quote from Bridget Riley:

“An artist’s early work is inevitably made up of a mixture of tendencies and interests, some of which are compatible and some of which are in conflict. As the artist picks his way along, rejecting and accepting as he goes, certain patterns of enquiry emerge. His failures are as valuable as his successes: by misjudging one thing he conforms something else, even if at the time he does not know what that something else is.”

And here are our latest images:

What a reassuring quote. It gives you some freedom to find your way and not expect to be born a great photographer but grow into greatness.

    Helen – you're welcome ;)

KClark – yes, it's a great reminder to not let yourself be held back by the need to produce perfection each time. It really can be the mistakes that help guide us to new directions. If we wait for perfection, we run the risk of not producing anything at all!

Great shots! I love this feature because it lets me see what folks have been up to in the last week. I hope to be to something myself this week! Well done!
