So I completely didn’t do my Exploring the Ordinary this week. Know why? I’ve been busy!! I’ve been working on my ready-to-hang pieces using some of that beautiful material I found at the salvage yard. Since I was too busy to put together an Exploring the Ordinary feature, I thought I’d share with you a little of what kept me from it this week. Hopefully next week I can get back on track.
I present to you some of my very first pieces using the reclaimed tiles I discovered. There were a couple of technical difficulties along the way, but I think I’ve found a method of assembly that I’m happy with.
This little piece of wood flooring turned out to be one of my favorites so far and it goes so well with my barbed wire fence post photo.
Rather than signing the photos themselves, I decided to sign right on the tile.
Each piece will be ready to hang – I’ve attached a saw-toothed hanger with epoxy (nice and strong!) and bumpers on the corners to protect the wall.
I hope to have them ready to go to Alice’s Consignment shop by this weekend! I need to finish applying the sealant to each one, but once they’ve dried I’ll be taking them in. If you’re in the Napa, CA area you should check out their new store: 1746 Yajome Street, Downtown Napa, CA.
Jessica~Boy they look nice! You have been busy..Good for you! Hugs…
wow! these look so wonderful. very well-together and clean and professional. and so very original! good luck to you, even though i'm sure you won't need it :)
Wow those look awesome. Very creative work!
What was your method for mounting the photos?
Wow, love them!
Thanks everyone! :)
Jennifer – I ended up using a neutral PH craft glue after the acid-free spray adhesive didn't work with the sealant I'm using. Seems to be holding through 3 coats of the sealant so far! :)
beautiful and so, so smart!
Wow these look awesome!
Jessica those look so great!! What a great idea and use for those salvaged pieces!!
Thanks so much ladies!
Wow, these are super cool.
I love your think outside the box approach.
Thanks for sharing.
